Need help to make a decision
If you need help making a decision about your career or education, you may want to seek out a professionally trained guidance counsellor.
What is Adult Guidance Counselling and how can it help me?
There are different reasons for seeking guidance counselling. For example,
- I don’t know what I want to do
- I don’t know what options are available to me
- I don’t know how to choose one option over another

Meeting with a guidance counsellor
The Adult Education Guidance Service in Ireland is a free and confidential guidance service available to adults who are thinking about returning to education.
You can get advice and information about local, regional and national opportunities for adult learners, and you can also book an appointment to receive individual guidance counselling, free of charge. Although the guidance service is usually based in an ETB, the guidance service is impartial and they do not just advice on courses within the ETB.
