Teach English as a Foreign Language in Italy

SUNFIELD SCHOOL OF LANGUAGES is currently interviewing and recruiting staff to teach English as a Foreign Language to students in Apulia, Italy.  

Sunfield is an Italian Callan Accredited school, a Language Cert Test Centre and preparation centre for Cambridge English Assessment examinations.

JOB CANDIDATE

The school are looking for motivated, professional and friendly candidates with native level English or an English degree. Candidates must have a European Union passport, and preferably a TEFL qualification.

WORK

Employment will begin in September to mid-June and no previous teaching experience is required.

Teachers are contracted for 30 hours a week, teaching lessons from Monday to Friday. There is also a possibility of an extension to the end of July. During this period, teachers work from Monday to Thursday and are contracted for 25 hours a week. 

SALARY AND ACCOMODATION

For the first period (September-June), the standard starting salary for teachers is €1,100 per month net, with salaries paid monthly. Your accommodation is fully covered. Our teachers share a flat where there are four bedrooms in total. Each person will have their own large single bedroom with access to a common area including a living room, kitchen and two bathrooms. Your rent, fees and wi-fi are paid in full.

TRAVEL AND ASSISTANCE

Ryanair and EasyJet fly direct from the UK or Ireland to Bari, and Ita and British Airways also have regular flights. There is a bus connecting Bari to Santeramo every half an hour.

Our teachers will be fully supported with organising their residency documents, Italian health and identity cards, accessing a doctor and opening a bank account.

All teachers need to bring their European Health card, their passport and a laptop computer.

INDUCTION WEEK: 

New teachers will participate in an induction programme, including training by the Director of studies.

It is not necessary to be speak Italian however it is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture and learn the language. Having knowledge of a foreign language will also help to further your job prospects in the future.

LOCATION
Sunfield School of Languages is located in Santeramo in Colle, a hilly town of Apulia, famous for the quality of meat and traditional butchers and meat restaurants. It is just a short distance from more touristy places such as Matera, Bari, Monopoli, Polignano and Alberobello. Apulia is the number one tourist destination for Italian tourists and has recently become a top destination for foreign tourism as well, with its picturesque towns and villages, excellent local cuisine and miles of beautiful unspoiled coastline. The region has some of the mildest weather in Italy and many interesting towns and places of interest just a short bus journey from the town.
