There is always such an air of pride and passion when a tourism and/or hospitality manager speaks about their job. It is a diverse role with every day looking different. Typically a Hospitality Manager has responsibility for the running of hospitality establishments (Hotels, Restaurants and Tourism-related business); coordinating staff, securing business, controlling costs, and ensuring that guests are satisfied with their stay. MSc Global Hospitality Management and Intercultural Communication – University of Galway

The MSc Global Hospitality Management and Intercultural Communication is designed for those who would like to develop and strengthen their knowledge and skills in Human Resource Management (HRM) while becoming competent in intercultural communication. The programme aims to prepare graduates by developing their understanding of different cultural contexts and viewpoints while attaining valuable business skills thus enabling graduates to work successfully in various sectors across the global business market. Modules include: Global Business and International HRM, Intercultural Communication for Business, Management of Organisational Change, and Project Management.

The programme will be offered on a full-time basis over one academic year or on a part-time basis over two academic years. The programme will consist of lectures, seminars, industry exposure, experiential learning, in-company study, computer-based simulation, guest speakers and projects in the relevant subjects.

BA in Hospitality Management - ATU

The flow of the programme empowers participants to gain practical skills across multiple departmental disciplines, equipping them with flexibility within the workplace. Participants will acquire the skillset needed in the workplace for both now and into the future. As the programme progresses, the participant will gain a holistic understanding of the business model within which they operate, supporting their ability to progress into more senior / management roles within an organisation.

The programme is designed by theme with the course flow reflective of the career journey the learner will take, with an emphasis on Operations, Business Processes and Strategy. A central component is the incorporation of Work-Based-Learning (WBL) projects bespoke to the learner’s workplace, which utilises the workplace as a legitimate and immersive learning environment.
