Having a Chartered Surveyor come speak provides students with the opportunity to:
- Understand what a career in surveying is like.
- Speak with a Chartered Surveyor and hear about a day in their life, their responsibilities and exciting projects they are working on including buildings and projects students see on the way to school or even on tv.
- Identify the essential skills a surveyor needs and what leaving certificate subjects are useful to becoming a Chartered Surveyor
- Learn about college courses available and CAO points
- Find out about the SCSI and the benefits of becoming a student member in college.
In addition to school talks, why not consider booking one of the 5*S Space Surveyors and Students readymade Transition Year Workshops. 5*S is a national SFI /ESERO funded STEM out-reach project that can help you take the answers to many space questions into the classroom! Now more than ever we need to understand how to address climate change justly. SCSI partner Chartered Surveyors with schools to demonstrate the uses of satellite earth observation and GIS to explore environmental issues and their long-term effects.
