Ordnance Corps
The Army Ordnance Corps took part again this summer in Exercise EUROPEAN GUARDIAN.
The aim of the exercise is to give participants the chance to use and develop their manual neutralisation skills in a highly demanding, multinational environment. Over the two-week exercise, participants were given a series of different and increasingly complex scenarios and devices to deal with. Check it out on Instagram.
6th Infantry Battalion
Congratulations to the 6th Inf Bn sniper team. The team placed highly on the British TSSC 24. The 6th Bn sniper pair won best international. They were the winner of last man standing shoot-off. The team placed 5th overall. Excellent work from 6th Inf Bn. Check out more here.
1 Brigade Artillery Regiment
1 BAR competed in the inaugural 1 Brigade GOC's Challenge in Kilworth Camp, Co. Cork. Units from around the brigade were pushed to the limit across a timed 8km course, where they were tested on several Military Skills: Navigation, Fieldcraft, Observation and Judging Distance, Medical/Casevac Procedures, Communications and Weapons Handling and Marksmanship. Naval Service
Did you know all of our personnel at sea have to first do Damage Control and Fire Fighting training? Our personnel have to be prepared to react and deal with even the worst of conditions while at sea. The way we prepare for that is through constant training and exercises. Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Motor Mechanic, Construction plant Fitter, Agricultural Mechanics. HETAC L7 Agricultural Mechanisation. Applicants must be 18 years and less than 29 years of age on date of application.
