1. Transport Planner Apprentice for Baku GLS

Position: Transport Planner Apprentice (Logistics Associate Apprenticeship). Responsible for planning and scheduling company resources such as trucks and drivers to ensure consistent achievement of customer service, efficiency, and other operational/business targets.

As part of the apprenticeship training, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Coordinate & control the delivery cycle.
  • Build consignments (electronically)
  • Plan and assign consignments and organise re-loads for drivers (including route & journey time planning) and ensure all drivers are aware of their allocated job, giving full consideration to all health and safety regulations
  • Liaise with the warehouse to plan loads effectively and facilitate urgent deliveries
  • Prepares load lists for incoming vehicles
  • Ensure waybills for all consignments are attached to the load list
  • Plan and/or split consignments for collection/delivery prior to agreed deadlines
  • Ensure that all required details are available
  • Coordinate hazardous cargo consignments to the standard required
  • Communicate professionally, effectively, and assertively with drivers and harness good working relations
  • Communicate professionally and effectively within the office environment and support other team members
  • Work effectively and supportively with Sales/Marketing and Accounts with regard to pricing and invoicing
  • Monitor consignments that could potentially be late and take appropriate action
  • Communicate to team members what will be delivered and what may run late
  • Incorporate customer service requirements into the daily plan
  • Assist in growing the business when opportunities arise
  • Maintain systems, processes and develop where appropriate
  • Maintain and adhere to QEHS system and processes
  • Ensure Good Distribution Practices (GDP) are maintained at all times during the course of your work
  • Ensure / coordinate / prepare all relevant documentation required for consignments (POD, Customs, VAT, Excise duty refunds etc)
  • Book ferries as required
  • Attend Operations team meetings and participate in team decisions
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers and others as appropriate
  • Liaise with Fleet manager to ensure continuous compliance to all transport regulations, including Tachographs, driver’s hours, vehicle condition
  • Check truck/driver locations regularly to ensure they are located as planned
  • Initiate appropriate corrective action when sub-standard performance or issues arise
  • Deliver all agreed KPI’s.
  • Undertake other duties from time to time as appropriate

Knowledge, skills, and experience required:

  • An appropriate education certificate, e.g: leaving certificate, or another QQI Level 5 or higher qualification (Must meet the educational requirements of the LAA programme)
  • Computer literate, knowledge of computerised and manual planning systems
  • Good geographical knowledge of Ireland and European countries
  • Excellent communication and planning skills
  • Knowledge of statutory transport regulations/legislation would be an advantage
  • Must participate in and pass all necessary internal training courses

Location: Galway

This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team within the Supply Chain function.  We are looking for individuals who will support and drive Chanelle Pharma’s vision to be the most valued global provider of high quality, competitively priced pharmaceutical products and to provide excellent services and support to our customers. In this role you will report into Warehouse Managers / Team Leads.

The warehouse comprises of very different areas of work as per list below and people have different roles within these areas:

  • Warehouse Administration
  • Goods Receipt (Raw Materials, 3rd. Party, Packaging, Offsite)
  • Sampling (Raw Material and 3rd. Party) Applying Approved labels to Raw Materials.
  • Cycle Counting
  • Picking Work Orders for Manufacturing (Medical, Veterinary and Dispensing)
  • Staging Work Orders for Manufacturing
  • Material Handling (Pallets to and from Manufacturing)
  • Warehouse drivers. (Moving Material between buildings)
  • Stock Movements.
  • Shipping Approved Medical , Veterinary &  3rd.Party Pallets to Customers.

Currently we operate over 2 shifts (Day and Evening 39-hour week) and staff may be requested to change working hours as per company policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a service Department our main priority is to keep Manufacturing supplied with product from Receiving in Raw Material and packaging to Shipping Finished Goods and all stages in between. Picking and issuing Work Orders for manufacturing.
  • Returns from manufacturing to the warehouse(s).
  • Cycle counting and Liaising with Internal Finance Department and external Auditors..
  • Loading/unloading of trucks.
  • Responsible for labelling material with status labels.
  • Liaising with other internal departments.
  • Temperature monitoring of all warehouses.
  • All warehouse personnel are responsible for housekeeping.
  • Responsibility for adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  •  Administration duties and system updates as required.
  • Be available to work overtime when requested.
  • Packing of waste for recycling/incineration.
  • Operation of Warehouse equipment, such as counterbalance fork trucks, pallet trucks, pallet stacker, turret truck , MEWP cherry picker & ride on powered pallet trucks.
  • As we work in a GMP Environment Adherence to the SOP’s and following all policies and procedures is critical.
  • Any other duties as requested by the Warehouse Manager/Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working within a pharmaceutical cGMP Environment; with knowledge of EU GMP and US FDA Guidelines would be an advantage but not essential
  • Previous experience of working in a GMP Warehouse would be an advantage but not essential
