Recently, Commandant Geoff Curran delivered an impressive performance riding Hawthorn Hill, going clear in the jump-off of the 1.50m Grand Prix Qualifier. His precision and composure in the ring continue to showcase the strength of the Defence Forces Equitation School on the competitive circuit.
Air Corps
Our AW139 crews completing a neonatal transfer from Letterkenny University Hospital to Casement Aerodrome. The mission ensured the safe and swift transport of a young patient and the NAS-CCRS neonatal team for onward care.
7 Infantry Battalion
The 7 Inf Bn team has arrived at Camp Edwards, Cape Cod, ready for an intense international military competition! Day 1 began with the Army Combat Fitness Test, followed by a split into two events: a modified M4 rifle qualification and a stress shoot involving physical exercises, sled dragging, and engaging targets with both the M4 and M17 pistols all while artillery and machine gun simulators fired in the background.
After that came a map test and a challenging 5-hour land navigation course running from day into night. Altogether, the team powered through 17 hours of continuous competition and that was just Day 1!

Direct Entry Motor Technician Fitters
The Defence Forces are now accepting applications for Motor Technician Fitters, suitably qualified candidates must hold FAS/SOLAS or equivalent qualification in one of the following:
Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Motor Mechanic, Construction plant Fitter, Agricultural Mechanics.
HETAC L7 Agricultural Mechanisation. Applicants must be 18 years and less than 29 years of age on date of application.
