Fully Funded Language Summer Camps for Students

This summer marks the seventh consecutive year of fun-filled language summer camps, fully funded by the Department of Education and free of charge for students. These camps, supported by Languages Connect, offer a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in their heritage language or explore the excitement of learning a new one.

By stepping outside the traditional classroom setting, students can deepen their language skills in an engaging and supportive environment. This year camps are available in select locations across the country and a variety of languages, including Chinese, Lithuanian, Japanese and Italian.

The two-week camps are for 1st to 5th year students attending a post-primary school in Ireland. They operate from 10am to 3pm daily over two weeks offering a mixture of a positive educational environment and fun activities. There are five camps running this summer which may be of interest to some of you students. Details of all camps including how to find out more are below as well as available on the Languages Connect website here

Activities such as these encourage students to embrace languages both inside and outside the classroom, helping them build confidence and fluency in real-world settings. The summer camps are just one of the many ways Languages Connect continues to promote the uptake of Modern Foreign Languages at primary, post-primary, and third level. Find out more here
