126th Infantry Battalion UNIFIL

At Camp Shamrock (UNP 2-45), Lieutenant Colonel Rockett formally handed over command of IRISHPOLBATT to Lieutenant Colonel McDonagh, marking the successful completion of the 125th Infantry Battalion’s deployment and the beginning of the 126th Infantry Battalion’s mission in Lebanon (main image).

A proud and significant moment for all involved, the handover reflects the continued commitment and professionalism of Irish personnel serving overseas with the United Nations.

The Defence Forces are now accepting applications for Motor Technician Fitters, suitably qualified candidates must hold FAS/SOLAS or equivalent qualification in one of the following:

Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Motor Mechanic, Construction plant Fitter, Agricultural Mechanics.

HETAC L7 Agricultural Mechanisation. Applicants must be 18 years and less than 29 years of age on date of application.
