In response to growing demand in the Midlands region, the Laboratory Apprenticeship Programme will be delivered at TUS Athlone starting in September 2025.

This programme offers companies a valuable opportunity to develop their talent pipeline, while also ensuring that graduates are work-ready from day one. Since its launch at TU Dublin in 2018, the programme has successfully expanded to SETU Waterford in 2019, MTU Cork in 2022, and now to TUS Athlone in 2025.

Apprentices will work in a sponsoring company 3 days while attending university the remaining 2 days per week, working towards a qualification as either a Laboratory Technician (Level 6) or Laboratory Analyst (Level 7).  Apprentices will also earn a wage from their sponsoring employer throughout the programme.
