Main Purpose of Job:

We require full-time CIT Operatives, for the Dublin & Limerick Branches, to carry out the collection and delivery of cash and coin to and from customer premises. Replenishing ATM’s and providing maintenance. Perform various tasks assigned by the Manager/ Supervisor.

Job Summary:

The Transport Operations & Commercial Driving Apprenticeship provides the academic qualification and practical training and work experience that supports a vibrant and exciting career in the freight distribution and logistics sector. Apprentices will also receive expert driving lessons and training in advance of completing their C/CE driving test and attaining the Driver CPC qualification.

The academic award for this apprenticeship is a Higher Certificate (NFQ level 6) in Business in Transport Services and is the first qualification on the national framework of qualifications (NFQ) linked to the profession of commercial driving!

  • Minimum entry requirements are a grade H7/O6 or above in five Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) subjects.

    • A minimum of grade O6 or a B2 or above in Foundation level must be obtained in Mathematics
  • Holders of a QQI Level 5 or Level 6 (or equivalent) in cognate areas (e.g. business, logistics and distribution, supply chain management, etc.) can apply for entry onto year 1 of the program
  • A mature candidate, over the age of 23, who does not hold qualifications as set out above, but who:
    • Has a minimum of two years’ experience working as a commercial driver.
    • Is recommended by their employer.

The programme will be delivered using a blended learning approach, with apprentices attending lectures 1 day per week online with ATU Sligo with the remaining 4 days spent embedded in our transport teams.

All CDAP apprentices will be assigned a workplace mentor who will guide the apprentice through their journey. Mentors are experienced Transport professionals with valuable industry experience, who will also be trained by ATU Sligo to carry out this important role.

During the programme you will gain first hand experience of the fast paced foodservice industry, as well as being an active member of both the Transport and Warehouse operations teams. Upon successful completion you will achieve a Higher Certificate (NFQ level 6) in Business in Transport Services as well as a C/CE driver license.

Entry Criteria

  • Grade H7/O6 or above in five Leaving Certificate subjects
  • Applicants must pass the interview stage to be placed on the programme
  • Commit to a 2 year course and a discretionary 2 year commitment to Sysco afterwards
  • Meet medical requirements for driving

Position Summary: 

  • Maintain the accurate upkeep of the stock file inbound and outbound programme, providing a clean and accurate invoice to the customer.
  • Ensuring that all deliveries outbound to the customer are carried out in an accurate & timely manner to allow us to continue to provide a world class service within the agreed budgetary costs delivering all our company’s expectations.
  • First point of contact for all transport queries and issues – responding to vehicle maintenance issues, driver absence and journey/delivery queries.
  • Admin support for Warehouse management tasks.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Stock Duties
  • Action and process quarantine stock issues and salvage stock
  • Complete chill buffer check and reserve checks
  • ASN Reports – printing of ASN reports for WH goods in team for following day

Transport:

  • Ensure all relevant Transport compliance administration is complete in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of Fleet maintenance administration – inc. management of defect process
  • Provide all drivers with journey administration – complete drivers pre and post debrief, issues invoices, PDA’s, probes and relevant administration
  • Check progress of invoices on WMOS
  • Management of PDA cabinet stock and respond to PDA technical issues
  • Provide comprehensive handover to Transport department for any issues and resolutions or action pending
  • Management of/and response to Verofresh system violations
  • Awareness and understanding of Kronos system and Paragon planning

Warehouse

  • Respond to Warehouse Supervisor administration requests as required
  • Support Goods In department as required
