A huge congratulations to our Young Officers on completing the intensive 9-week Aeronautical Engineer Young Officer Course! From airworthiness and advanced composites to exploring aerodynamics and rotary maintenance, they’ve taken the first bold step into exciting careers in military aviation. Their journey is just beginning, proof that with dedication and passion, the sky is not the limit, but only the beginning.
Corps of Engineers
The Corps of Engineers Annual Corps Concentration is drawing to a close in Lynch Camp this week. The Sappers of the Corps spent last week training and honing their skills in bridging, mine clearance, CBRN and combat engineering before putting it into practice on the 72hr TACEX.
Defence Forces School of Music
The Army No. 1 Band, Dublin, recently provided musical support at two significant events. On May 29th, the band performed at the 79th Apprentice Passing Out Parade, conducted by Captain Thomas Kelly.
In a separate engagement, they gave their first summertime recital of the season at Leopardstown Park Hospital, conducted by Captain Thomas Kelly and Captain Mary Walsh.
Naval Service
The Naval service had the pleasure of welcoming the bright and curious 6th class students from Scoil Naomh Micheál, Upper Glanmire to the Naval Base! From exploring our ships to learning how the Irish Navy protects our seas, these future leaders asked all the right questions and brought great energy to the Base. Who knows, we may have just met some of Ireland’s future Naval Sailors!

Direct Entry Motor Technician Fitters
The Defence Forces are now accepting applications for Motor Technician Fitters, suitably qualified candidates must hold FAS/SOLAS or equivalent qualification in one of the following:
Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Motor Mechanic, Construction plant Fitter, Agricultural Mechanics.
HETAC L7 Agricultural Mechanisation. Applicants must be 18 years and less than 29 years of age on date of application.
