The Work
Telesales agents act either as a back-up to a company's sales force or as a link between a company and its customers. In both cases, they advise customers about goods, obtain details of orders, handle correspondence and maintain record systems. They ensure that orders are delivered on schedule and do their best to resolve customer difficulties.
In many international businesses, sales agents work in a large open-plan office where they wear headsets and they may both take orders through incoming calls as well as ‘cold calling’ (meaning that they ring up potential clients/customers to make a sale.

Qualities - Telesales Agent
As a telesales agent, the most important thing is that you have good communication and listening skills, and a clear, confident telephone manner. You should be methodical, and well-organised with paperwork.
You also need the ability to remain calm and not become easily frustrated and in awkward situations.
There may be ambitious sales targets (or Key Performance Indicators, KPI) to reach on a weekly or monthly basis so you must be able to work well under pressure.
