As you walk through the front door of Pearse College of Further Education, you will notice a sculpture inscribed with the words:
“Education should foster, Education should Inspire.”
Since we began offering courses to adults in 1967 we have been motivated by these words of Padraig Pearse. We believe that if you take the first step of returning to education with us, then it is our responsibility to motivate, challenge and encourage you to take the next one to:
Our courses are designed to prepare students for employment and third level education in an adult-friendly environment. In Pearse College, mature students returning to education mix with school leavers, teachers and students, working together to discover capabilities, explore possibilities and realise potential.
It is an exciting and inspirational place to learn, with a highly qualified, dedicated and caring staff, excellent facilities, a unique atmosphere and a proven track record.
Pearse College has an active Student Union, with members elected from each course. It meets regularly to review matters of interest to the student body and to plan specific student events throughout the college year. There is also a Student Union representative on the Board of Management.
Pearse College has a dedicated Student Support Team that offers tailored academic support for students to help them attain their educational goals. We also have two dedicated Guidance Counsellors and a Student Counsellor, who provides one-to-one counselling sessions for students to help with issues of personal concern.
….all of which are available to Pearse College students for free, along with a whole host of other classes and activities such as basketball, badminton, pilates and much more under the supervision of our qualified instructors and tutors.
Many of our courses offer progression routes to Third Level via the Higher Education Links Scheme. Our University Access course is partnered with Trinity College Dublin to provide facilitated entry to mature students in the field of Liberal Arts, with many of our students going on to study Law, Psychology, Social Work, English Literature, History…
