The college supports two modern IT laboratories with out of class access for students. Students can also avail of excellent wifi access throughout the college campus. Moodle, the on-line learning platform, is used extensively by tutors and students.
The college has a fully-equipped gymnasium that is predominantly used by the Sports, Recreation and Exercise students as a training facility. Out-of-class access to the facility is made available to other students.
Canteen facilities are available for all, serving hot and cold food and beverages throughout the day. The canteen endeavours to focus on healthy eating options.
OCFE charges a Registration Fee of €160, payable on registration. The Participant Contribution Charge, applicable to all FE/PLC courses also applies to those who register at OCFE although exemptions apply. The college prospectus gives details of all fees and approximations of costs associated with each course.
Support for students with learning needs is available. Students are asked to make the college aware of such needs at the application stage to permit adequate planning time. All students have access to a career guidance counselling service throughout their course.
The college is very centrally located in Kilkenny city and reachable by foot from all parts of the city. Regional and provincial buses operate a stop at the front gate of the college on Ormonde Road.
