Clonakilty Agricultural College locally known as Darrara College is located 3 miles from the picturesque town of Clonakilty in west Cork and has been involved in agricultural education since 1905.

Our aim is to train students for employment in the agricultural industry and to equip young entrants into farming with the knowledge and skills to become professional farmers. We also provide training in association with Cork Institute of Technology. Students can also progress to graduate from UCC or UCD.

Currently we are providing training for 240 students between all of our courses. There is a balance of both school leavers and mature participants among the students.

Students are trained in the theory and practice of Agriculture and business and get an opportunity to work in a practical way on farms as part of their training.

The College farm has 140 hectares of rolling lowland; facing south it is ideal for growing early grass. The farm units give students a hands-on approach to learning.

Graduates of our courses not only return to farm the land but also contribute in many sectors of the Agricultural industry, including Co-Ops, trade suppliers, Agricultural businesses.
