Dundrum College of Further Education is a leader in offering modular and credit-based components in our full-time QQI Level 5 and 6 Major Award courses.

Facilities

On site facilities include teaching rooms, computer labs, Career Guidance service, mentoring support, student work rooms, meeting rooms, and an online library resource.

Clubs & Societies

Students at CFE Dundrum have an active role in the development of College life through the Student Council, which links each student to their Coordinator and to the Board of Management through class representatives. The DDLETB Student Society supports the social life of the student body across ten Further Education colleges in Dublin, with events running locally such as charity zombie run, Christmas carol singing, table quizzes, bowling championships, social outings, football tournaments, etc.

Information Technology

The College is well served with nine dedicated computer labs and all lecture rooms are facilitated with access to tablet devices.  The College WIFI supports students to bring their own device into the classroom.  The College is an accredited Technology Enhanced Learning centre, where students are facilitated with access to a wide spectrum of technologies to support their learning.

Dining

The College canteens are bright, cheerful places where students can relax and enjoy hot food, tea, coffee, soup, sandwiches, scones etc.



Fees and Grants

Some students may be eligible to avail of one of the following funding schemes:

Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS)

Eligible Students continue to get their full Social Welfare entitlements as well as the cost of text books, exam fees etc., for the duration of the course.  Meal and travel allowances are also paid.  Places are limited so early application is advisable.  See www.citizensinformation.ie for qualifying conditions.

Back to Education Allowance (BTEA)

The BTEA allows qualified applicants to return to full-time education in approved courses in order to advance the applicant’s level of education while continuing to receive some support.  People in receipt of certain social welfare payments can retain these payments for the duration of the course.  Please check the website www.welfare.ie for qualifying conditions.

Maintenance Grants

The Department of Education & Science provides 3rd level maintenance grants to eligible students attending full-time Further Education courses in the College.  The grants are paid through the Student Universal Support System (SUSI) and are means tested.  This payment is made subject to satisfactory attendance on your course.  For further information check the website www.studentfinance.ie.

Scholarship Fund

Our sponsors, Capital Credit Union, are offering a scholarship to a number of students covering all College fees.  All registered students may apply for this funding by downloading the application form from the website.

The College is situated in the heart of Dundrum and is well served by Luas and Dublin Bus, and is adjacent to Dundrum Town Centre. The College campus covers two centres: Main Street Dundrum campus and Upper Kilmacud Road campus.
