Galway Community College of Further Education is one of Ireland's leading colleges of Further Education. We are located on the site of the newly announced College of The Future for Galway City. We offer full-time courses in a wide variety of career areas designed for entry to skilled employment, in preparation for starting an apprenticeship, or for progression to further and higher education.
For some, these courses may be used as a transition year, an opportunity to sample new vocational areas before committing to a longer course of study in university. All our one-year courses offer a mix of blended learning, with work experience and funded Erasmus placements. These courses are aimed at Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied graduates, mature learners and anyone finding themselves considering changing their career path.
We have a wide variety of QQI accredited PLC courses for you to choose from in 6 specialist departments, Business/Secretarial, TV/Film/Music, Technology/Engineering, Sport/Equine, ELC/Healthcare and Science/Horticulture.
GCC offer links with Third Level Institutions in Ireland and in the UK. You can achieve 390 CAO points from doing a course and apply through the CAO for Level 7 and 8 degree programs.
GCC is located at Moneenageisha junction in Galway City, less than a 10-minute walk to the city centre and to ATU Galway.

Enrollment
Students who accept the offer of a place on a course pay a non-refundable deposit of €50.00
Non EU Students are subject to an International Fee
We advise non-EU citizens living outside Ireland to contact the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service on www.inisgov.ie to ensure the course you are considering applying for is eligible for a student visa. Non-EU citizens living in Ireland are welcome to apply and require a PPSN (Personal Public Service Number). Non-EU citizens are required to pay a tuition fee set by the Irish government which is currently €3653.

Fee Refunds
A full Registration Fee refund will be issued to all students who do not commence their course in Galway Community College.
Galway Community College will process refund requests received up to and including the last Friday in September of the students current academic year. Refund Forms available from the office or by email [email protected]
Any deposits paid before this are non refundable.

Student Grants and BTEA
All courses in Galway Community College are approved for the SUSI grant.
Students can use this link to check if they are eligible for the SUSI grant.
SUSI grant applications are done online through the SUSI website.
Students are advised to contact their local Department of Social Protection office in relation to Back to Education Allowance. Information regarding BTEA can be accessed on www.welfare.ie.

IT Support – Availability of laptops and / or software for duration of the course.
ISL – Sign Language Interpreters where applicable
