About Us
TUS Thurles is a friendly, student-centred campus located in the heart of Co. Tipperary, offering a supportive and close-knit learning environment. The campus specialises in programmes across sport, business, social care and technology, including Applied Sports Science, Agricultural Science, Software Development with Games Programming and Cyber Security.
Alongside lecture theatres, science labs and specialist games development labs, the campus features a superb 2,000 square metre SportsLab - an elite, state-of-the-art strength and conditioning facility.
Facilities include a unique 3D Organic Motion Capture System for movement analysis, a 45m six-lane sprint track designed to improve speed, a Paralympic training area, Olympic lifting platforms, cable machines, functional screening kits, and a wide range of sport technology systems, including GPS and micro-electro-mechanical systems.
The SportsLab is one of the finest facilities of its kind in Ireland and greatly enhances the practical learning experience of Sports Strength and Conditioning students. It is also used by a range of sports teams.
In partnership with Thurles Tennis Club, the campus includes two tennis courts and a padel court, with further sports developments planned.
Students also benefit from being part of TUS, with access to wider opportunities, supports and networks across all campuses.
