Autism Summer Programme 2024 - (July 9th - July 11th)

In July 2024  DCU Autism Friendly Project  and  DCU Disability and Learning Support Service . We plan to run a summer school for young autistic people.

 These students should be finishing 5th or 6th year, and plan to attend college. They do not have to be planning to attend DCU.

 The aim is to help prepare them for college life, by facilitating interactive sessions on the themes of: 

• Academic Preparedness
• Social Skills Development
• Independent Living Skills
• Accessing Support Services
• Campus Exploration

Workshops will include sample lecture and etiquette, living with others, students’ union and clubs and societies, tours of science labs, computer labs and engineering labs.

The summer school will be facilitated by DCU staff and student ambassadors. The summer school students will be supervised at all times.

The dates are:

9th,10th,11th July at 10am-4pm every day.

• When you register, you will be sent a consent form to sign digitally and return.
• Lunch and snacks will be provided. There is no cost, unless your young person needs/wants to purchase specific food on the day.
