LIT annual Engineering Showcase moves online
LIT’s annual Engineering Showcase highlights the practical learning that is central to all our programmes at LIT. The showcase gives 1st to 4th year Mechanical and Automobile Engineering students an opportunity to present the project work they have completed throughout the year, showcasing the activities, products developed, and creativity our students.
This year’s event moved online and students recorded presentations for the showcase, explaining the practical project work they’ve undertaken during this academic year. For students interested in studying Engineering, this is a great opportunity to hear more about the practical element of our Mechanical and Automobile Engineering programmes directly from our students.
For this year’s online event, we were joined by many industry representatives such as Modular Automation, Takumi, KMAC, Analog, Jones Engineering, Shortts Engineering Steel, Stryker, Shannon Precision Engineering, Molex, Zimmer, Aughanish Alumina, to name but some. Awards are given to best project and student, selected by industry representatives. In recent years, interviews and recruitment success for students have also developed from the event, reinforcing the strong links and relationships LIT has with industry.
