DCU CAO Updates, Science & Health 5 New Undergrad Courses, New PP Teaching Course & Lots More

DCU Faculty of Science and Health

The Faculty of Science and Health launched five new undergraduate courses with our first students arriving on campus in September of this year.  They are our BSc in Psychology and Disruptive Technologies, BSc in Psychology and Mathematics, BSc in Bioprocessing, BSc in Physics with Data Analytics and BSc in Chemistry with Artificial Intelligence.  These specialisms were developed alongside industry leaders to help us educate our students so that they have the knowledge and capability to successfully carve a place for themselves in our rapidly changing world.  

New DCU Course

DC015 - Post-Primary Teacher Education - Technology, Graphics and Engineering

This course will be jointly offered by DCU and Technological University of the Shannon Midlands Midwest, (TUS). This course is pending accreditation but is expected to go ahead and further information will be available shortly on our website. For further information, please visit dcu.ie/DC015.

FET / QQI entry Routes

DCU are delighted to announce that we now have 62 undergraduate programmes accepting FET awards for entry to DCU. For details of QQI requirements and relevant codes please see FET requirements under student resources at www.cao.ie. Simply enter the DC code for the programme you are interested in or if you are not sure of the code enter DC in the Select by Institution option, then click on Go. Students must have attained the FULL Level 5 or Level 6 QQI award with distinctions in relevant modules

Music Assessments

DC009 Bachelor of Arts: Joint Honours (Humanities) (DC009):

Music subject: Applicants interested in taking Music as a subject on this programme are advised that there will be no music theory/aural test for this programme from 2021. All applicants who apply for this course via the CAO will be eligible to compete for a place on the programme and to choose Music, subject to meeting the general entry requirements.

DC012 BA in Religious Education and Music

Course is no longer restricted and applicants will not be required to take a music assessment but they must have a H4 in Music or equivalent. Applicants can also avail of the change of mind process (1st July) once they have made their initial application by 1st May.

DC014 BA in Jazz and Contemporary Music Performance

Course is no longer restricted and applicants can avail of the change of mind facility up to 1st July 2022. Applicants will be required to participate in a performance audition which will take place in late March and early July. Auditions will take place via an online platform and applicants will be notified in advance.
