Delve deep into contemporary culture and literature of the Irish language with the new MA i Léann na Gaeilge at DCU. Through this unique course, you’ll acquire specialist knowledge and understanding of the richness of the Irish language and develop essential skills in writing, research and analysis.

Not only will you deepen your expertise in the culture and literature associated with the Irish language, but you will also have an opportunity to follow your passion and embrace further study on an area of research of particular interest to you. For your dissertation you’ll have the opportunity to focus on a specific area of research that draws on your experience, your background, your undergraduate degree and modules you study on this masters.

About the course

This master’s degree may be completed as a one-year full-time course or a two-year part-time course. On the MA i Léann na Gaeilge, you will engage with modules including applied linguistics, literary and gender theory and the digital humanities.

Fiontar & Scoil na Gaeilge is an interdisciplinary school recognised internationally for the research undertaken by its academic and digital projects staff. In fact, DCU is home to the largest Irish department in the country.
