Access DCU Entry Route (ADER)

Posted on April 27, 2022

Access DCU Entry Route (ADER) is an entry route to university that offers students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to apply to the DCU.  Two types of support are available:

  • Subsidised Accommodation with Access supports

or

  • Reduced Point Entry with financial scholarship and Access supports

Through the subsidised accommodation scheme, we have a small number of first year rooms on campus, which we offer at either 50% or 100% subsidy. These are obviously of significant financial value thus making a real difference to students in their first year of study.

ADER is aimed at students who, due to their socio-economic background and low family income, would find it difficult to gain entry to or take up their place in DCU. The eligibility criteria are the same as those for the Higher Education Access Route (HEAR). Students who have not applied or cannot complete their application to HEAR or are seeking subsidised accommodation should apply to ADER with supporting information.

If a student has made an application through the HEAR scheme and is not seeking subsidised accommodation there is no need for them to reapply through this scheme. The 2022 application form is now available at: https://www.dcu.ie/access/access-dcu-entry-route-application-form-2022-deadline-applications-22nd-april-2022

Further information about the scheme can be found on our website and through our social media postings.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact Colette Keogh at [email protected] or for queries relating specifically to the subsidised accommodation support, Margaret Lamont at [email protected].
