AACSB Innovations That Inspire Award Each year, AACSB recognizes institutions around the world that are creating relevant, impactful, and visionary business schools for tomorrow.  We are delighted that our efforts to provide future-focused business education through our BSc Digital Business and Innovation has been showcased by AACSB's Innovations That Inspire awards.

The transversal skills development program was of particular interest to the judges who commended the resulting high level of employer engagement with significant graduate employment rates. Read More >

Small Business Charter Excellence Awards The Small Business Charter is recognising and celebrating exceptional achievements by SBC accredited business schools in its annual Excellence Awards. We are delighted to be shortlisted in all three categories for Outstanding Support for Small Business, Outstanding Stakeholder Engagement, and Outstanding Support for Student Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. A panel of judges, comprising of business school leaders, SME business leaders, and other SME experts will be appointed to vote on winners for each of the three categories. The winners will be announced at the Small Business Charter Summer Reception taking place on 22 June at the House of Lords. Read More >

Graduate to Student Mentorship Programme Awards DCU Careers Service and the Alumni Office recently celebrated the 2022- 2023 Graduate to Student Mentorship Programme and Awards’ for their award-winning Mentorship Programme. This year, over 120 second-year students participated in 34 programmes of study with Alumni mentors volunteering their time and expertise to mentor a DCU Student. Congratulations to Nicolette Towela (Business Studies International) who won Mentee of the Year and Robert Costello, PwC Ireland, who won Mentor of the Year.  Robert is an alum of both our BA Accounting and Finance and our MSc in Accounting. HP Sustainability Challenge Our second-year business students recently participated in the Innovator's Toolkit module, where they proposed innovative solutions to solve real-life problems put forward by HP.  Out of the ten groups that were selected to pitch their creative ideas in front of a panel of HP executives, one team emerged as winners - congratulations to MINT students, Ava Gale Murphy, Beth Wyer, Kate Skelly, Olivia Hope Allen, Ruby Rowen, and Sophie Kirwan, for being selected by HP and receiving laptops for their outstanding efforts.

Applegreen Innovation Challenge Award In April we welcomed Applegreen to the Business School to present the inaugural DCU-Applegreen Innovation Challenge Award to a group of first-year students in the Learning Innovation for Enterprise (LIFE) module.

Using design thinking techniques, students were tasked with developing a service innovation focused on enhancing Applegreen’s customer service. 

The winning team presented their innovation in the boardroom to Applegreen's Head of Innovation, Maria Cassidy, Early Careers Manager, Katie Dunne, as well as the Dean, Professor Dominic Elliott, and module lecturers, Dr Catherine Faherty and Dr Orlagh Reynolds.
