The FIA-Led United Against Online Abuse (UAOA) Campaign Has Announced the First Recipients Of Its Prestigious Global Research Scholarship The four scholars selected as recipients of the FIA Global Research Scholarships will carry out Master’s by Research at DCU with full funding from the FIA Foundation. Their work will help to improve understanding of online abuse against athletes and officials, providing a strong basis for the UAOA coalition’s ongoing efforts to drive behavioural and regulatory change. The DCU partnership with the FIA United Against Online Abuse campaign is led by Prof Theo Lynn and Dr Gary Sinclair in DCU Business School.

The new scholars are established researchers within their respective fields and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the UAOA Research Centre.

Now accepting applications for our next Let's Lead! Leadership Development for Women programme cycleLet's Lead! Leadership Development for Women provides a relevant, refreshing, and contemporary approach to leadership for women. Its foundation is the acknowledgment that women’s careers and leadership journeys often follow a very different route to those of men. This programme provides women with an opportunity to discuss and examine these complex issues in an action-oriented environment in the supportive company of other female leaders. Guided by insights from the field of organisational psychology, the programme emphasises the importance of deep reflection on career-related choices. It provides the space and time required for women to consider these issues in a personal and strategic manner.

The next intake for Let's Lead takes place in April, with the deadline for applications fast approaching.

Congratulations to Professor Edgar Morgenroth from DCU Business School on his appointment to the Climate Change Advisory Council, appointed by Minister for Environment, Climate and Communications, Eamon Ryan, for a period of three years.

The Climate Change Advisory Council provides independent evidence-based advice and recommendations on policy to support Ireland’s just transition to a biodiversity-rich, environmentally sustainable, climate-neutral, and resilient society. The Council works to provide contributions in critiquing, informing, and shaping Ireland’s response to climate change.

Speaking about his appointment, Prof Morgenroth said:  “Climate Change is one of the most pressing challenges facing humanity. Successfully tackling this challenge is contingent on identifying and enacting the right policies. I am delighted to be able to contribute to this as a member of the Climate Change Advisory Council.”

Let's Talk

Our first Let's Talk Postgraduate event took place in February in DCU Business School.  The event featured 8 Keynote Speakers, all DCU alumni from a variety of industries delivering talks across 3 themes - Financial Services, Digital Transformation & AI, and Business Development & HR.

Representing a variety of sectors and sharing industry insights and perspectives on careers, our fantastic line-up of speakers included Yemi Ajomale, Group Internal Audit - Strategy and Transformation Manager, Bank of IrelandLeanne Brolly, Assistant Vice President of Risk, GenesisCatherine Drysdale, AI Transformation and Change, BardenAlan Makim – Head of Sector Strategy & Specialists at AIB; and Jonny Cooper, Director of Leadership and Talent Development, Steering Point.

The event opened with a panel discussion featuring alumni as well as DCU Careers Service.

Enterprise Engagement TripOur Executive MBA Class of 2024 have just completed their International Engagement five-day visit to New York. Immersed in the epicentre of global commerce and innovation, they had the privilege of directly engaging with leading companies and institutions that shape the world. The visit presented a unique opportunity to our MBA candidates to have direct interactions with companies such as CRH, Danone, Brainly, Beautyque NYC, LVMH, Globant, Capgemini and Peloton Interactive as well as having private tours of the New York Stock Exchange trading floor, and the United Nations HQ building.
