At Monaghan Institute, you can complete a one-year Science & Laboratory Techniques course to develop the skills and competencies in the preparation, use and maintenance of laboratory equipment to perform a range of laboratory procedures. These are the key skills necessary for employment in the science and pharmaceutical industries in Ireland or to obtain the entry requirements for accessing Science-based programmes at University.

What will I study?

This course introduces learners to the world of science and covers a variety of subjects related to laboratory and physical sciences; including core science subjects, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. You also study Microbiology and Laboratory Skills, which provide our graduates, with a firm ‘Science’ foundation, placing them at a distinct advantage if progressing to University.
