The Annual Architectural and Building Expo at the RDS saw a significant turnout from the fields of Architectural Technology, Renewable Technologies, OEM, and Engineering. This year marked a milestone as it was the first time such a large group from Monaghan Institute attended the event.
Students explored the trade stalls and exhibitions, gaining the opportunity to engage with industry experts and ask numerous questions. The expo also featured participation from various other colleges, with universities proudly showcasing their students’ work.
Among the standout exhibitors was Aerobarrier, a Drogheda-based company that impressed attendees with its innovative airtight methods. Another highlight was Benglas, a Dublin-based firm specialising in retrofit glass with low U-values for conservation buildings.
The event was not solely focused on students and stalls. Tutors from MI enjoyed a special moment with TV celebrity and architect Dermot Bannon, who was thrilled to learn that his videos are frequently used in classrooms.
The expo also provided ample opportunities for tutors to discuss Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and arrange both online and in-house sessions. Many exhibitors expressed interest in visiting MI to conduct information sessions, further enriching the educational experience.
Overall, the day was a resounding success, fostering connections between students, educators, and industry professionals, and highlighting the latest advancements in architectural and renewable technologies.
