The Lir Academy Introduces Acting Courses for students as young as 12!

Posted on March 6, 2020 Do you know a talented young actor who is eager to get an early start? The Lir Academy provides a number of short courses for actors as young as 12! Taught by core Lir Academy teachers and practicing actors / theatre makers, these courses offer a high standard of training for young actors who want to get a head start.

Junior Academy (12th September – 10th April)
The Junior Academy is a tailored programme in acting for exceptionally talented students aged 15– 17 who want to see what it’s like to study in a drama school. Students on the Junior Academy often progress onto the Young Actors’ Programme or the Foundation Diploma in Acting and Theatre. Audition date 18th April.

Summer Acting Camp ( 13th – 24th July)
The course is designed for young actors aged 12-15 who have a passionate interest in performing and would like to have an early start in acting training.

Young Actors Programme 2weeks (20th – 31st July)
The programme introduces young performers to the reality of intensive training, replicating two weeks in the life of a full-time acting degree.

Musical Theatre Intensive (6th-17th July)
Through group and individual classes and rehearsals, participants will develop the skills necessary for performing in Musical Theatre productions of the highest standards.

Young Actors Programme 4weeks (6th -31st July)
A combination of the two week Young Actors’ Programme with the two week Musical Theatre Intensive Programme.

Other courses include Introduction to Costume Design, Introduction to Set Design and Introduction to Lighting Design ( for 16+).
