Applications are open for The Lir Academy’s undergraduate degrees!

Here’s some key information you need to know.

Bachelor in Acting

• Practical training in acting, voice and movement at conservatoire level for young actors who are very passionate about turning acting into a career
• Admissions are based on a 3-round audition (the course is not part of CAO, UCAS or any other points-based race).
• Applications are made directly on The Lir Academy website www.thelir.ie
• All applicants will get a first audition and they can already select a date when they apply

Bachelor in Stage Management and Technical Theatre

• Practical training in stage management, lighting, sound, costume or set design, scenic art and prop making
• Work with state of the art technologies and top industry professionals
• Gain practical experience through work placement and work on in-house productions open to the public
• Admissions are based on an interview (the course is not part of CAO, UCAS or any other points-based race)
• Applications are made directly on The Lir Academy website www.thelir.ie
• All applicants will be able to select an interview date in their application

Foundation Diploma in Acting and Theatre

• Level 7 Diploma aimed at school leavers who are considering acting as a career path
• Applications for the Bachelor in Acting and the Foundation Diploma in Acting and Theatre can be made on the same application form (just tick both boxes!)
• Students will train with core Lir Academy teachers and get a sense of what are the demands of training at The Lir Academy or another drama academy
• Admissions are based on a 2-round audition (the course is not part of CAO, UCAS or any other points-based race)
• Applications are made directly on The Lir Academy website www.thelir.ie
