Coláiste Dhúlaigh College of Further Education (CDCFE) offers Post Leaving Certificate (PLC) Courses at QQI level 5 and 6 and at Higher National Diploma in a wide range of disciplines.

Most of our courses lead to entry to Universities and Institutes of Technology with some courses gaining entry to second year.

CDCFE is located on four campuses, Coolock, Raheny, Kilbarrack and Malahide and provides programmes delivered by a team of tutors dedicated to the highest standards of teaching and learning in a caring, supportive and friendly atmosphere.

We want you to succeed and our courses are designed to help our learners achieve their full potential.

The Application Process

Step 1 – Apply Online

Applications for courses starting in September 2021 will open to applications on Monday 23rd November 2020.

When you complete your application, you will receive an acknowledgement email with login details, username and password, for your new account on our college applications system (MIT). Please ensure you receive this email as it sometimes goes into spam/junk folders.

You will need to log into the college applications system (MIT) regularly to manage your application to CDCFE. Please note that your login details must be kept, by you, in a safe and secure place as they will be needed to access your account each time.

Step 2 – Interview and offer of place

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are unable to hold interviews this year and will be offering provisional places* on a first come, first served basis. Within 10 working days from the date of your application, you will receive your provisional offer letter to your MIT account, which you will need to login to, in order to access your letter. We will send you a text and email when your offer letter has been uploaded to your account.

*This offer is provisional and is subject to places being available and any specific course requirements being met, such as an audition, sample artwork, specific Leaving Cert. Results, relevant experience etc. Refer to the course entry requirement for the course you are applying for on the course page here.

(Applicants to courses that have additional requirements will be contacted directly about how to fulfil the additional requirements e.g., Uploading sample artwork, auditions etc.)

Step-3 – Pay a non-refundable deposit online to secure your place.

You will receive a text & email in early 2021 asking you to pay your non-refundable €50 deposit online. Please go to the college website and click on the Pay Fees button (or you may login to your account in the usual way). This will take you to the login page of the college applications system. Please ensure you login to the Academic year 2021/22. Once you are logged in, select the Payments tab to see the breakdown of course fees and to pay your €50 deposit. Failure to pay your deposit by the given deadline may result in your application being cancelled and the loss of your place. You will be contacted early in the summer regarding the payment of the balance of course charges. See individual course website page for the course fees.

International Applicants

The college welcomes applications from qualified international applicants. International (non-EU) learners must comply with Irish immigration requirements and must present either a student visa or a letter of permission to remain in Ireland, issued by the Immigration section of the Department of Justice. Non-EU learners in certain circumstances may be required to pay a course fee for their course. For further details, please contact the college.

English Language

All courses are delivered through English. Learners are advised that to benefit from their chosen course they should be proficient in written and spoken English. Learners may be required to do an English Language proficiency assessment as part of the interview process.
