This sports award will offer you a unique blend of exercise and fitness combined with Irish dance.

It offers qualifications to enable students to contribute to the varied job opportunities that are available worldwide within the industry.

Participants will study a combination of modules in the Sports and Recreation award that will prepare the learner to succeed in the Fitness, Wellbeing or Dance Industry.

This programme includes modules Dance, Exercise & Fitness, Pilates, Massage Therapy, Anatomy & Physiology, Team Working, Nutrition, Sports & Recreation Studies, Gym Instruction ITEC, Workshops, Audition Coaching, Optional Extra Irish Dancing Grades.

» Leaving Certificate: Five passes at Ordinary Level, or » Leaving Certificate Applied, or » QQI Level 4 award, or » Others, including mature students: Assessed individually, and » Personal interview, and » Medically certified evidence of fitness to participate in exercise

Career Opportunities and Progression

Students of Irish Dance Exercise and Fitness can progress onto the BA in Performing Arts (LM026) at the Irish Academy of Music and Dance University Limerick.
