FET Course of the Week: 5M2083: Hospitality Operations at Waterford College of Further Education

Hospitality Operations at Waterford College of Further Education is a year long QQI Level 5 course designed to equip students with the skills to competently work within the Hotel & Catering industry. Students gain an understand of the role, structure, and organisation of the accommodation department, showcasing comprehension of accommodation service terminology. Upon course completion, learners grasp the full spectrum of accommodation services, including the accommodation assistant's role, duties, and vital responsibilities. In the Food Preparation module, you'll learn to source raw ingredients, prepare them for consumption, and ensure food safety. The Safety and Health in the workplace module encompasses learnings essential skills like safe knife usage, proper food handling, hygiene practices such as handwashing, fire safety procedures, and appropriate attire for minimising risks.
