Ballyfermot College of Further Education (BCFE) celebrates as graduate, Tania Notaro, wins at Indie Cork Film Festival and Radio Graduates win at the IMROs
Many congratulations to BCFE graduate (Traditional Music; Music Production; Media Production Management Degree) and local Ballyfermot woman Tania Notaro who recently won The Ronan Phelan Scriptwriting Award At IndieCork Festival for her script Boxed.
The film is a gripping tale about the trappings and dangers of Social Media and how it might affect all of our lives in the future.
“IndieCork Festival, the festival of independent film in Ireland, rounded off another successful year as it came to a close on Sunday night – having broken its box office and attendance record”. It is pegged as Ireland’s largest festival for short films. Many filmmakers made their way to Cork for the festival to represent their films and participate in some of the industry training events (From the Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTN) website).

Olivier runs www.eirewave.ie/player where a number of current BCFE Radio students can be heard on the airwaves. Thanks to Olivier (pictured below in BCFE) for his support of and cooperation with the BCFE Radio students.
BCFE Student Shireen Langan (photo below) had her own Talk Show on FM104 whilst studying in the college. Shireen will be graduating from BCFE with her BA (Hons) in Media Production Management in the coming weeks and heading to Los Angeles for an exciting and as yet, secret project.
