BCFE Animation Students Win Awards

During these unprecedented times with college closures, remote teaching and learning, social distancing and all the other measures we have all put in place since the arrival of Covid 19 we still have much to celebrate in Ballyfermot.

Animation Students Win RTS Student Award

Recent graduates win the 2020 RTS Student Award for Animation with their short film ‘CRTL+ALT+Z’. Synopsis: ‘The night before the deadline – familiar to every student, and to the rest of us, too – and one very stressed student is trying to complete her dissertation (on stress management, of all things!) when *pouff* all her hard work disappears into cyberspace. The ensuing nightmare of high tension, hysteria, and despair is conveyed in high quality animation, with very sophisticated use of music and sound effects.’

BCFE Animation Students Win Best Sound Design for ‘Legend Has It’ in Dingle

Recent BCFE graduates won the Best Sound Design for their final year film ‘Legend Has It’ at the 2020 Animation Dingle Awards Ceremony, streamed live on Friday, 20th March. The film was directed by Ciara Johnson; the team comprised of: John Knowles, Christian Keogh, Stephanie Morley and Sharon Byrne, Composer was Nathan Downey. Sound support was provided by Larry O’Toole and Alan Kenny while script support was given by Sarah Anne Murphy. Congrats to all concerned.
