RTE Radio 1 Brendan O'Connor show features “The Class of 2024” with Ballyfermot College Radio & Podcast Student Sophie Hynes. Sophie spoke of her journey up to the Leaving Certificate and her serious medical issues that affected it. She tells of how she got work experience in Several radio stations and they all recommended our SOLAS CDETB FET Ballyfermot College Radio and Podcasting course as the only place to go to.
Just 2 weeks into the Radio Podcasting Course, Sophie has been given opportunities with Radio Maria, Bauer Media and The Niall Boylan Show on national station, Irelands Classic Hits and we also look forward to hearing her soon on Christmas FM 2024.
In addition to our Erasmus+ placements in Radio Stations in Finland, Malta and Spain we have just this week secured partnership with World Radio Paris and Talk Radio Europe.

Entry Requirements
No portfolio required.
- Leaving Cert / LCVP minimum of two H5 / O1 and three O6 / H7 grades or equivalent.
- QQI Level 5 award with a merit profile or BTEC National Diploma with a merit profile.
- Academic entry requirements waived for people with experience and mature applicants (21+).
