Posted on June 21, 2023 Summer may be in full swing but at Crumlin College of Further Education, we’ll be accepting applications from students for the next academic year right throughout the summer season. If you’re planning to return to or continue in education in 2023, Crumlin College has a number of courses which may be of interest to you. Further Education allows you to comfortably bridge the transition between secondary education and higher education. It also equips students with the necessary skills to progress directly to the workplace. Small classes delivered in a supportive environment where the individual development of each student is paramount means that our courses are the perfect choice for any students returning to or continuing in education. For the upcoming academic year, the course fee has been reduced to €50 for all courses across the board, making Further Education an affordable and desirable way to upskill and prepare you for your chosen career path. For any courses, where students need additional kits or supplies i.e. Hairdressing, Beauty, Sports and Culinary Arts, there is an additional €100 charge. However, this fee is refundable to all students on those courses who are still in attendance in January 2024.

With Schools of Hairdressing, Beauty & Make-Up Artistry, Fashion, Fitness & Sports Therapy, Pre-Degree Information Technology & Graphic Design, Accounting, Business & Administration, Tourism and Culinary Arts, there is something on offer to appeal to a broad range of potential career paths. Students can obtain accreditation at QQI Levels 5 and 6. Various courses offer additional accreditation by other awarding bodies including ATI, ITEC and CIDESCO.

Here's just a flavour of what is on offer in our Fitness and Sports Therapy:

Sports Injury Prevention and Message Therapy

This course is designed to provide the knowledge and practical skills required to work in the Sports & Leisure sectors. It consists of theoretical and practical training which enables students to work in Health Spas & Massage Therapy Clinics. Candidates who successfully complete the course will receive internationally recognised accreditations from both QQI and ITEC.

Fitness Instruction & Health Studies

This QQI Level 5 course, with additional accreditation by ITEC, allows for progression onto the Level 6 Fitness Instruction & Personal Training Course at the college. Students are able to equip themselves with internationally recognised qualifications and can avail of employment opportunities in the fitness, health and leisure industries.

Business Studies with Sports & Fitness

This QQI Level 5 course combines business and sports modules thus allowing students progression on to a number of courses or provides them with the skills to advance to employment in a broad range of settings.

Our Level 6 courses are in the following areas: Diploma in Beauty Therapy, Beauty Specialist & Retail Sales, Accounting Technician Year 2, Business Management & Marketing Year 2, Fashion Management, Fitness Instruction & Personal Training, Management and Marketing in Tourism and Culinary Arts – Professional Cookery (Level 6). Applications are open for all these courses to students who have completed a QQI Level 5 programme or equivalent in other colleges.
