Are you good with your hands? Explore ATU Connemara’s four year programme in Furniture Design and Manufacture

If you’re someone who enjoys making things with their hands and also mastering the art of digital design, BSc in Furniture Design and Manufacture at ATU Connemara may be the course for you.

Students who have studied Construction Studies, Art or Design and Communication Graphics at Leaving Certificate or PLC Course level are especially encouraged to apply however this is not an essential requirements.

This four year programme is designed for individuals interested in the furniture and manufacturing industry, from traditional to advanced manufacturing techniques. Students will be equipped with the skills on the furniture design process from conceptual stages to fully completed furniture project.

A level 6 Higher Certificate course is embedded within the course, so students can exit the course with this award once years one and two are completed.

If work experience is important to you, you’ll be delighted to see that in year three of this course students will participate in a yearlong work placement with the option to study abroad.

At present there is a 100% graduate-employment rate for graduates of this course, so students of this course can rest assured that there are employment opportunities in the wood and furniture manufacturing industry.
