Turn your passion for music into a career with BIMM’s Bachelor of Arts in Music Business

Do you enjoy the process of organising and hosting music events? Maybe you’d like to start your own record company? BA (Hons) in Music Business at BIMM Institute aims to provide students with a better understanding of the music industry, from planning and forecasting, financing, creative collaboration and digital marketing.

Lecturers will teach the topics of traditional and digital marketing, music publishing, learning about the ins and outs of copyright legislation, the live industry, music recording and distribution. A knowledge of these areas aids your professional development as a music business entrepreneur.

Your work experience opportunities will provide you with real life experiences through placements with music oriented employers that allow to put your theory into practice.

The undergraduate course contains multiple optional modules with which you can craft your very own course to suit your professional needs from Label Executive to DIY Release Manager to Live Production Manager and more.

To be eligible to apply for this course students are required to achieve a minimum of 2 x H5’s & 4 x O6’s in any Leaving Certificate subject. A minimum of five distinctions at QQI level 5 are also accepted. Candidates will also have to complete a BIMM admissions interview. The interview is the primary entry requirement for mature candidates.

Studying Music Business at BIMM will kickstart your journey into the music industry, graduates can progress directly to employment in the music industry in roles such as a DIY Artist/Manager, Record Label Executive, A&R Manager, Publisher, PR and Marketing Manager, or Digital Communications Manager.
