Ellen Woods is from Kenmare, Co Kerry and began her undergraduate in WIT in 2015 before completing her Masters of Business (Human Resource Management stream).
I completed my undergraduate degree in Waterford IT. I had such a good experience while studying on the Bachelor of Arts course that I decided to stay in Waterford and complete my masters.
I wanted to increase my employability and push myself outside of my comfort zone. The course was also accredited by the CIPD so that was a massive plus too. The course consisted of core HR modules with more general business ones too which really interested me (leadership development and business simulation to name two). I also liked the fact that I would get the opportunity to work with students from varying backgrounds (finance, marketing etc)
Not only has it enabled me to get a job in the area I really wanted to work in, it has also taught me life long skills which will stick with me forever. I felt as though I was well equipped for the world of work.
Go for it. It is by no means easy but at the end of it you will look back and realise how much you have grown as a person and how much you now know!
I don’t think there is any college or university in Ireland that compares to WIT. The small class sizes means you get to make real life long friends whilst getting a great education. The lecturers truly want to see you succeed and are very passionate about their subjects which rubs off on the students. Waterford city is a really nice place to live too, lots of great things to see and do for students! Not to mention, the sun is always shining in the south east.
