Higher Education Course of the Week: SE923 – Culinary Arts at SETU Waterford

SE923: Culinary Arts at SETU Waterford is a 4 year full time programme that teaches a new vision of culinary arts by incorporating subjects such as food innovation, food policy, sustainable practices and specialty food production. Students are encourage and taught the skills to be entrepreneurs and innovators. During the programme students embark on one year of international study and international work experience. In year three students take a semester at a partner college in Spain, USA, Northern Ireland, France or Canada.

The work experience placement entails working in a country of the student’s choice. Subjects such as Food Microbiology, how it is relevant when it comes to food safety, production, preservation and storage. Another key module is Culinary Operations Practice, during which learners are taught the process of purchasing food, inventory management and fulfilling these practices in line with regulations

Entry Requirements:

As of 2023 the points required for this course are 250. Entry requirements for this course re as follows, 2 H5 & 4 O6/H7 with an O6/H7 in English or Irish and in Maths.
