President of MU, Professor Philip Nolan Among 27 Members Elected to the Royal Irish Academy.
Maynooth University congratulates Prof Philip Nolan, President of Maynooth University, on his admission to the Royal Irish Academy (RIA).
Prof Nolan was among the 27 new Members admitted by RIA President Dr Mary Canning in a virtual ceremony. The new Members were elected for their exceptional contribution to the sciences, humanities and social sciences as well as to public service.
The RIA is an all-island forum of experts which aims to recognise world-class researchers and champion Irish academic research. The RIA brings together senior academics and figures from government and industry to address issues of mutual interest. There are 637 members in the RIA, including former president Mary Robinson, former chief justice Susan Denham, Philip Lane of the European Central Bank and historian Mary Daly. WB Yeats and Seamus Heaney are among past members of the body.
