MU's Secondary School Economics Support Programme - Irish Agriculture and Sustainability

Posted on October 3, 2022 As part of MU's Secondary School Economics Subject Support Programme, the Department of Economics has created a video for Transition Year and Leaving Certificate students.  

This video dicscusses economic, social and environmental sustainability in the context of Irish agriculture. Does the agricultural production impose negative externalities on the environment via greenhouse gas emissions? If so, is agricultural activity taxed? Find out why not, and what the future holds for Irish agriculture.
