Higher Education Course of the Week: GY262 – Commerce – International Hotel Management (Shannon)

Commerce – International Hotel Management at Shannon College of Hotel Management provides students with the opportunity to study international hotel management while also specialising in one of the following business disciplines at University of Galway: Accounting and Performance Measurement, Economics and Public Policy, Digital Business and Analytics, Marketing Management, and Human Resource Management.

Students of the Bachelor of Commerce will transfer to the University of Galway main campus for their final year.

This course incorporates a full Commerce Degree with an emphasis on hospitality, tourism and development of communication and leadership skills. Students have the opportunity to complete 21 months of paid international work placement as part of this exciting degree programme.

The coursework is a combination of practical training, language development, immersive hands on work experience in the international hotel industry and commerce theory training.

Graduates of this course are highly sought after to work in exciting business all over the world and many do a lot of travelling for work.

Entry Requirements:

As of 2022, the points required for this were 711. Applicants will need a minimum of O6/H7 in English, O6/H7 in Irish, O6/H7 in Any Other Language and O6/H7 in Maths.
