We are delighted to announce the launch of four new Post Leaving Certificate (PLC) courses which are starting in September 2024.

The first course is a part-time QQI Level 4 course that prepares learners in their transition from second-level school to Further Education. This course is called Pre-Level 5 Access Course. It is offered over one academic year. The course provides a foundation for learners who wish to progress to a Level 5 award or higher in the future. It is suitable for Leaving Certificate Applied, Youthreach and Citywise students as a bridge to Level 5.

The second course is Software Development with Games Design. This course is at QQI level 5 but is structured over two years. This will allow learners who are academically capable, the time to transition to Further Education, manage their workload and assignment deadlines, and prepare them to progress to Higher Education.

The third course is Social Care with Psychology. This is a QQI level 5 course that is offered part-time over two years. The course will prepare learners to progress to Higher Education, allowing flexibility for those who want to study but are not in a position to complete a full-time course.

The fourth new course is a QQI Level 5 course in Counselling Foundation Certificate. This course is a starting point to help participants develop the specialised skills required to become a professional Counsellor. Participants will learn many useful skills such as active listening, empathy and self-awareness that are of benefit to people in any career sector that involves dealing with members of the public. The course is primarily aimed at students who wish to progress to further studies in a related field at Higher Education.
