Further Education Graduation at Greenhills Community College

Posted on May 30, 2024 The Greenhills Community College graduation took place at the Green Isle Hotel. The graduation ceremony is a celebration of the hard work and academic achievement of the Further Education learners.

On the day learners from a wide variety of course areas including Business, Childcare, Computing, Engineering, Healthcare, Nursing, Science and Social Care graduated from the college. Helping the graduates celebrate were the friends and family members who had supported them throughout their studies. Guests included Mayor of South Dublin Cllr. Alan Edge.

Past learners Liam Nugent and Saoirse Butler spoke about the opportunities presented to them through completing a Further Education course and the further studies they have pursued.Liam graduated from Pre-University Science with Animal A&P in 2023 and has just completed year 1 of a Biotechnology degree at DCU. Saoirse completed the Medical Secretary course in 2022 and is now employed with the National Ambulance Service as an Emergency Medical Controller. Greenhills Community College is committed to providing lifelong learning opportunities for adults across all age profiles who wish to upskill or reskill by gaining a new qualification.

The College has offered QQI awards for 40 years and over this time has a deservedly earned a reputation for excellence in course provision. Greenhills Community College has a number of links with Third Level institutions including Trinity College Dublin (TCD), Technological University Dublin (TUD) and University College Dublin (UCD), as well as an extensive range of employers and recruitment companies. The annual graduation ceremony marks a final opportunity for the class of 2024 to come together before they embark on a variety of pathways including working life and further studies.
