Ulster University - Results Day and Clearing

Posted on August 29, 2022 Applicants who are currently holding an offer (offer holders) for a place at Ulster University will have their place confirmed on Friday 2nd September, if they meet the entry requirements outlined in their offer conditions they received via UCAS Hub.

For certain courses at UU, some offer holders may have already received confirmation of their place, where extra places have become available. Offer holders who do not achieve the required grades, may still be accepted on their chosen course, or they may be declined from their Firm or Insurance choices and entered into Clearing.

Firm / Insurance Choices

Offer holders will have a Firm choice and/or an Insurance choice, depending on how many courses they originally applied to. Their Firm choice is the course their first preference course, and will be where they’ll commit to study if they are accepted onto the course. Their Insurance choice is their second preference (backup) course, and will be where they’ll commit to study if they are not accepted onto their Firm choice and if they meet the entry requirements for their Insurance choice. If a student is declined from both choices, they will be entered into Clearing.

So, What’s Clearing?

Similar to CAO’s Available Places, UCAS Clearing is the final opportunity for students to get a place on a university course before the academic term begins in late September. You can still receive a university place even if you haven’t yet applied to UCAS. UU Results Day & Clearing Arrangements Website (ulster.ac.uk/clearing): Our website provides prospective students and their families with everything they need to know about Clearing and Results Day and the support we provide.

A full list of Clearing vacancies with adjusted entry requirements is now available.
