TU Dublin Green Week

Posted on March 9, 2020

TU Dublin Green Week 2020 takes place this week from 9th - 13th March.  Over 50 sustainability awareness-raising events have been organised across all University campuses.  Information about all events is available at the TU Dublin Green Week website

A large number of scheduled Green Week events have been planned directly by the staff and students of TU Dublin Environment & Planning.   Keynote speakers and distinguished guests include Professor John Fitzgerald, chair of the National Expert Advisory Council on Climate Change, Dr. Tadhg O'Mahoney, a graduate and member of the Climate Council Secretariat and Collie Ennis, zoologist and wildlife expert.  Celia Somlai and the Plastic Precious Dublin Volunteer Collective will be talking about practical solutions to plastic waste in Dublin.  The Vision Green Project will explain how they are using food waste to power city deliveries.  There will be a Carbon Offset Calculation Workshop with Sandy Greig.

Climate Change, the environment and sustainability are central to everything we do at TU Dublin Environment & Planning. So Green Week is a special opportunity for students to raise awareness across their university about these important issues.

The BSc in Spatial Planning and Environmental Management (TU835) is one of Ireland’s top professionally accredited programs, leading to a specialised, internationally recognised and highly employable degree in these fields. It is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in either planning the future of towns and cities or managing a sustainable environment for the future.
