Higher Education Course of the Week: US930: Culinary Entrepreneurship at TUS Midlands

US930: Culinary Entrepreneurship at TUS Midlands is a four year full time Level 8 programme during which students acquire the strategtic thinking and culinary skills required to success in the culinary business, and excel in fields such as food enterprise development and food innovation management.

Students will not only acquire an understanding of the symbiotic relationship between food and tourism but also cultivate essential IT skills while honing their abilities to excel as culinary entrepreneurs.

First-year students in the Department of Hospitality, Tourism, and Leisure are strongly encouraged to participate in the yearly international field trips.

To further enrich their qualifications, students can pursue external accreditations such as the Environmental Health Officers (EHAI) Food Safety Level 2 Certificate for Food Handlers, Environmental Health Officers (EHAI) Food Safety Level 3 Certificate for Head Chefs and Hospitality Managers, and the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) First Aid Responders Certificate.

Entry Requirements:

-        Minimum O6/H7 grades in Leaving Certificate Exams including English

-        Two subjects must be grade H5

-        Mature applicants are required to attend an interview and may be requested to take an aptitude test.
