MTU’s global community comes together to celebrate its first  International Women’s Day

Monday 8th March 2021 at 1.00 pm

Munster Technological University are hosting MTU Empowering Women 2021 in celebration of our first International Women’s Day as a fledgling university. The event aims to send a strong message of support, solidarity, hope, and encouragement to our MTU community during these exciting but challenging times.

The speaker line-up kicks off with MTU’s first president, Prof. Maggie Cusack, in herself an iconic role model for females as the second only woman to be elected president of a university in our nation’s history. The speaker agenda also includes three MTU alumni, the inspirational Leanne McDonagh, MTU’s Traveller Education Coordinator; Sylvia Fouhy, Vice President, Johnson and Johnson, New Jersey; and Deirdre O’Connor, Managing Director, BlackRock, New York City.  The event will feature music from the MTU Cork School of Music, MTU IWD2021 Ambassador/Role Model videos and messages of support from prominent, inspiring Irish women, including our own First Lady Sabina Higgins.

MTU EMPOWERING WOMEN 2021 is a free MTU community event organised by representatives from across the university. For further information and to register, see mtuempoweringwomen.ie  Please share with colleagues, family and friends, all welcome to attend.
